Client server architecture is a common way of implementing the services in a distributes systems. A client is the one that requires the services from the server. The server is the one implementing it. There are various types of client server model. Three of them are R,RR and RRA. The R model is called the request model where the client just sends a request alone. It does not wait for the reply from the server. In RR model the Request Reply mechanism is implemented. Here the server is expected to send the reply. Similarly in RRA model an extra acknowledgment is required from the client for the reply from the server.

Multi level switching traffic model
Traffic models are an important component in traffic prediction and network planning. Their basic model is based on the time series models which are either linear or non-linear models. However real time traffic data shows short-range dependence (SRD), long-range dependence and self-similarity. These characteristics can not be modeled by linear time series alone. So we employ a combination of both. In one of the research projects undertaken by SSN College of Engineering students are trying to build a multi level switching traffic model which has many models running concurrently and at any point of time it produces the result of the model that is close to the actual data.

Pens
After the start of the technological revolution the pens have been the prime writing device. Initially they were constructed out of wood and ink. Then there were amazing technologies which improved this field. As a result today we have at least 50 different types of pens. Ink pens are most used among them. It comes in various ranges. The nip ink pen is made out of metal and today there are pens with golden nip. A place called Sattur in Tamil Nadu specializes in the nip industry. Still they manufacture them manually without the use of machines which produces carefully chosen and well tested nips.

Think different
Today after finishing engineering many people get their job in development side or testing side. These fields though potential have already too many people working in it. It will be absurd if we also choose to get along with the gang out there. We must look beyond the normal opportunities to get higher and higher in life. One field of interest is storage. It is said to be a promising field for the next 20 years. Imagine a job as a Storage Architect, or Storage Designer or Storage Administrator. These designations are different and has more interesting work nature that the usual job offers.

Challenges in network prediction
Traffic prediction is a prime interest in the field of congestion control and admission control. There are other advantages like network planning and adjusting the network infrastructure accordingly to handle network efficiency. There are many problems in traffic prediction. No single model is capable of producing the exact prediction. Some perform better for short range dependence while other models perform very well for long range dependence. It is really a challenge to make the model adaptive according to the traffic. The challenges are further accelerated if we go for k step prediction rather than just one step prediction. The better the model the better the prediction.
